Some parents overdo it these days, equating cost and prestige with the value of the relationship. I always prefer a small gift chosen with care to something bought for the sake of it!<br />Lesley Olariunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701097386033513768.post-47074619351288200802012-11-21T08:30:56.447+00:002012-11-21T08:30:56.447+00:00Great ideas for simplifying Xmas. I love your ideas for Simple living and totally get where you are coming from regarding Xmas Xcess. We don't watch TV so we are not bombarded with the pre Christmas advertising. I'm a HUGE fan of Christmas but are simplifying it this year especially when it come to gifts. For my children I'm doing this.........something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read. And a Christmas stocking filled with sweets. Have a great week!A little bit countryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16683516169183026473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701097386033513768.post-66608035636197063112012-11-20T17:52:24.372+00:002012-11-20T17:52:24.372+00:00Hello Stephanie, welcome and thank you for followi...Hello Stephanie, welcome and thank you for following xoClaire/Just a little lesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14030696365673329064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701097386033513768.post-5134444525000807212012-11-20T13:39:05.393+00:002012-11-20T13:39:05.393+00:00Nah, I don't do red leather sofas :)

I suppose I have complicated feelings about Christmas in that I LOVE it, I love all the glitz and the magic but I would never get sucked into the consumerist vortex as, one, I have no money, and two, it's all a load of crap really. I love playing my Christmas records and counting the trees in peoples windows and collecting holly from the woods. I love the carol services and watching Elf on DVD and making little treats for gifts. I don't like all the plastic crap in Argos and DFS making you feel like you'll have a shit Christmas unless you buy an ugly red leather settee. If you have a red leather settee I apologise and I'm sure that yours is very tasteful :) XAnnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16706705991752123362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5701097386033513768.post-75480220125185888402012-11-20T08:57:50.165+00:002012-11-20T08:57:50.165+00:00good advice. We'll get together with extended family for multiple days, and have a great time! We also get the little shopping we have, done early. Then we focus on fun seasonal activities, like looking at lights and making a cookie house (from a kit! It's just easier). Bethany@OurSoCalledLifehttp://oursocalledlife.blog.comnoreply@blogger.com
